FirstInFamily.org: Support our program
First Graduate’s program is unique in that our commitment to our students is for ten years. We start working with our young people from the summer after their 6th grade and stay with them until they graduate college. We support them the entire way, through a comprehensive program which includes mentoring, tutoring, community service, college counseling, and life skills coaching.
We make a commitment to our students, and in turn they commit themselves to achieving their goals of becoming the first in their family to receive a college degree.
First Graduate’s comprehensive program ensures that disadvantaged students can succeed in academically and professionally challenging environments. The program promotes the ABC’s of youth development – Autonomy, Belonging, and Competency – identified by the White House Conference on Character and Community in 2002.
