At First Graduate, we realize that while many students need assistance, the biggest impact we can make is to help those students who don't have any family who've graduated from college. Becoming the first in their family to graduate from college can be a difficult goal, but it is one that can make all the difference not just to these young people's own lives, but to the dreams and aspirations of their family as well. In recent decades the education gap between rich and poor has grown. Students in the poorest quarter of the population have only an 8% chance of getting a degree, as opposed to 75% of students in the wealthiest quarter.
