Get Involved: With our events
First Graduate holds many events throughout the year that supports our programs and mission. From Discovery Day, where student applicants are evaluated to be in the program, to Presentations of Learning (POL), where students give individual presentations of what they've learned and accomplished for the year, First Graduate has many volunteer opportunities for you to be a part of and help make the dream of becoming the first college graduate in one's family happen for a young adult.
First Graduate celebrated its launch in February of 2003. A welcoming address was made by then First Lady of California Sharon Davis:
"I realize that none of us can save the world on our own...but we can save one child. If you choose to be a mentor, it will change your life, and it will change the life of a young person. This is how we will turn California around, one child at a time."
