Services: Family Engagement
First Graduate staff recognizes that family support is an important part of the success of a first-generation college student. We educate families so that parents will be able to manage the college process for the students' other siblings.
First Graduate has also established a formal Parent Committee for parents to provide mutual support as their children go through our rigorous program. Bilingual parent workshops address high school selection, college choices, eligibility requirements, application processes and financial aid. Case managers work with the Parent Committee to help parents deal with social and cultural changes in their children.
